Dune – Movie Review
Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of the Frank Herbert sci-fi novel Dune has finally made it to the big screen and HBO Max, and stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, and Dave Bautista.
Having never read the book, what does Brad think of the movie?

I never seen david lynch's dune yet. I bought it and own it just never watched it yet but I wanna watch lynch's first before I watch the new one.
It doesn't sound like you were particularly paying attention.
I only saw it for the Giant Worms
I get you man. It’s a audiovisual experience but didn’t do too much for me emotionally. Same with bladerunner 2049. Villeneuves style is a little bit too sober for me.
…
To be honest I'd have been disappointed if Brad had said he liked this version more than Lynch's version.
I've read Dune and Dune Messiah and they're both great books, and I think the points made in this review are fine. But for me I thought Dave Bautista was the biggest dissappointment as he didn't come off as being scary, but more confused and just awkward to watch. The rest of the casting and acting was top notch especially the minor roles like David Dastmalchian and Babs Olusanmokun (Jamis) were really outstanding!
i really enjoyed this version….but I was really missing Kyle in it.. This Paul reminded of Prequel Anakin Skywalker. Maybe it's because Lynch is my favorite, maybe i wanted more weird stuff. But seeing it on a big screen was pretty great. Even with a lady who decided ""Fuck it, I have 7 kids- why not just let them run around yelling. Stop them? Nah" We could still have the impossible insane Jordorwosky version while he's still alive
I love you Snob, but have to disagree that the Lynch version was better. I'm definitely Team Denis.
I think of it as a boat ride. Just sit back and enjoy it.
