had this for nearly 2 years, it performed well in 2560x1440p but it ran pretty hot, averaged around 75-79c mostly and sometimes in somegames that demanded less 60-65c.
Not quite as good as a rog strix/evga/msi but still did its job good.
Does anyone know the thickness of those thermal pads? I want to do a deep clean but I cant find info about the thickness of those pads anywhere.

Wie warm wurde die karte im test bei dir
Hello. What about coil whine?
Should I sell my 1080ti and get this
Well, all what i can say (from my own experience!= I've owned this card!): if you don't like loud revving noises in your PC (like this: @xChI)) then DON'T buy a GIGABYTE GPU!!! Unfortunately none of the youtube reviews about the gigabyte cards are mentioning this issues… the question is why not?!… But if you're searching for this revving noises with Gigabyte GPUs on the internet, you will get a lot of complaints about this cards… but to be able to find this kind of information, you have to know what exactly you should search for…
And this is why I'm so angry, that none of the youtube experts (at least I couldn't find any) are talking about this issues… You have to buy one, install it, and see yourself… Of course you can send it back and if you're lucky you can get your money back and buy another one (for ex. from MSI) – what I did -, but this is associated, with additional effort, trouble etc.
Don't get me wrong: the Gigabyte Aorus Gaming OC (or Windforce) are good GPUs, relative cheap (comparing to the other brands), they also have the same GeForce chip in it, they are not too big (you can install them also in smaler cases) , you get 4 years of warranty (!!!), and also the fans, as soon they are over 40%, they are runnig good and also relative quiet ==> so everything is OK with this card, BUT until the fans are getting to 40% they will drive you crazy!!! I wonder, how a company like Gigabyte could released such a product? How they tested it? The pre-build fan control is ridiculous!!! You pay around 760-800 bucks for this card, and you get such a primitive implementation??? Really Gigabyte? And "of course", if you ask about this by the Gigabyte support, you can wait weeks, but you will get no answer… And if you now think "I have 4 years warranty, so I do an RMA and they will fix it", forget it, this is not considered by Gigabyte as an issue! "This is a feature, not a bug", so you will get nothing!
The "best workaround" found by many users is: to create an own fan curve (wiht MSI Afterburner) set your fans on 40% directly from the start (0 degrees), and from ex. 60 degress you can then increase linear your fan speed up to 100%. Like this you will have once, by starting your PC this anoying noise, and your fans will stay on 40% (or more) all the time, but will work fine…
But I'm asking you: are you ready to spend 760-800 bucks for a GPU, for which you cannot use all the promissed functionality? Well, I'm not…
That's why I'm writing this comment, to warn those ones, who're about to buy a new GPU. Please be aware about this issues with the Gigabyte GPUs! Look closely to this problem, read all the complains from the internet, and decide after that.
Of course you can find for all the GPUs out there comments with problems, but those are separate issues, which happens to all companies and all products, but most of them are problems, where you can RMA your card and you will get a fix or a new one. This issue described for Gigabyte is a general topic… affecting a lot (all?) of their three fan GPUs.
If you can deal with this sound, or the fact, that you have to create an own fan curve and let your GPU fans run all the time on min. 40%, then you can also choose a Gigabyte card… as I wrote above, are good cards… But if not, then buy a card from a different company (MSI, ASUS, Zotac…)
Of course there is also another possibility… You can say: "maybe I'm lucky, and my Gigabyte card has not this revving noise issue", well, yes this is also a possibility… good luck with that. 😉
Gigabyte 2080 Super or MSI RTX 2070 SUPER Gaming X Trio? Which one is better? Any suggestions please.
