  1. I may be in the minority here. Maybe due to be living in a country where we don’t idolised celebrities. This is a horror film, that is why it takes a fictional novel about Monroe and make something different. It’s not about Norma Jean, it’s about Marilyn Monroe The shrieking madness of the film reminds me of Abel Ferrara’s Bad Lieutenant. At least this film is trying to do something different rather than playing it safe like every other celebrity biopics.I’m happy that this film is divisive. It does open up discussion.

  2. This is correct! There was no need for the unnecessary nudity nor the sex scenes. Yes, she suffered in her life but the sudden shift from one period of her life to the other wasn't smooth and had me confused. The last few scenes were even more confusing about whether or not she was forced to have an abortion. The Gemini Club or whatever was unnecessary at all as it's not realistic. Yes, she suffered and I'm intrigued about her life even though she made poor choices after getting into the entertainment industry, e.g. sleeping with powerful people just to secure her status. But this goes to show the dark side of the entertainment industry. Sleep with the directors/producers, et cetera in order to get chances. I wish this film put more insight on her suffering instead of what you accurately described as "porn". I salute you for saying that.
