  1. This movie gets some dislike, but I thought it was great…an interesting plot, a fairly new idea (or a twist on an older one), not too much suspension of disbelief, with some deeper themes throughout (what is a sign or “meant to be,” and what is just coincidence/good/bad luck).

  2. Boring, almost redundant dialogue. Lack of character depth outside of the Asian guy. Promoted itself as a scary movie without being very scary at all let alone creepy or atmospheric. Went into the Hollywood trend of starting off horror esc before just turning into an action movie. Also extremely drawn out for the plot and this is coming from a guy who usually likes build up. Could’ve easily been 30 minutes shorter. The pay off for the build up was also extremely underwhelming. Just an alien that looks like a parachute on steroids flying around while people are running. Only redeeming qualities were the underlying theme and 2 scenes involving the monkey/alien mouth. Overall 3/10
