  1. I loved your take on both the film and the aesthetics and look of this unique movie. I grew up in the 70s and remember seeing this with my brother. 2001, Planet of the Apes, Omega Man and a whole host of late 60s to late 70s films were on tv quite often back then, so whenever on, we'd watch and spend hours talking about the stories and messages of the films. I love the slow pace, the exploration of ideas..something you don't see too much these days, at least in mainstream film. So it's refreshing to see a younger person enjoy, not only the movies from yesteryear, but also the look and feel.

  2. Such a wonderful movie. I saw it on TV in the early 80s when I was a kid and it left a huge impression. The story, the message the atmosphere, the songs and the heartbreaking ending; all highly memorable. The subject matter (the fragility of life) has never been more relevant, what with the climate crisis. It’s also aged very well, despite feeling very obviously early 70s, because of the practical VFX, and also the inspired use of a decommissioned aircraft carrier as the set, which would’ve cost a fortune if they’d had to build it. So even though it was a relatively low budget movie it certainly doesn’t look it. Delighted it’s been given the treatment it deserves and I look forward to showing it to my little boy when he’s a bit older. Film grain FTW.

  3. The channel might grow but blu ray is dead 💀. Its only Americans that buy it European don't have big enough houses to store it all. Only the Germans buy physical media but that's no compliment lol. 😕 I was buying 4k for me but the prices are ridiculous so I went back to perfectly good blu ray over half the 4k I saw was almost no difference and not 25 times the price difference. I'd rather die in a landslide of standard blu ray then die cos I can't afford food. I paid my dues on blu ray to upgrade to 4k would be barking but I still refuse subscription 😤 its not the same as your own blockbuster store at home. 20 years from now people will be drooling over my collection or laughing at my technophobe ways.
