The REAL Reason I'm Switching to Pixel 7 Pro (from iPhone 14 Pro)
PIXEL 7 PRO 👉
I’ve been using an iPhone as my everyday phone for a while now and recently upgraded to an iPhone 14 Pro, but I am switching to the Pixel 7 Pro, and I will tell you why.

Hey, I’m Mike O’Brien. For anyone new here, I am NOT a fanboy of either brand, but I’m also not a hater. I used both operating systems extensively and I really appreciate them both in their own ways, but ultimately, we have to choose one as an everyday phone. In this video, we will be

One or more of the products shown in this video may have been sent to me at no cost. This does not influence my opinions; I always cover both pros and cons. This pixel was sent to me at no cost as a gift from google to me, as a member of Team Pixel. This did not influence my analysis in any way. Seriously, I have lots of phones. I could choose the folding phone I spend like $1000 on, but I am choosing this one instead because of its features and functions.

  1. I see a lot of people asking if I am actually switching or just doing this for the video. I get that a lot of creators do that, but I am legitimately switching. I feel very strongly about my closing statements in this video. In order to maintain my credibility and honesty in videos, I cannot have brand loyalty or biases. Every year, I switch between iOS and Android, and this year will be an android year for me. The switch is so annoying (thanks to Apple's hurdles) but I am making it happen. Don't believe me? Check back in a month, or two months, or eight months 🙂

  2. I have just got a apple and it sucks, i am a andro google user and most of everything with google. s,o and Apple is really for the wizards. my next phone is google. and very soon. kool to have apple for those people who have apple. but they have no cost for low income people. so google startled us, and it is best to stay with the big dog.

  3. My first phone was an iPhone 4S and it was great until it broke. Couldn't afford a new iPhone so I got a midrange Android then about 3 years later got a Pixel 3 XL. Again loved it. The interface was clean and everything just worked. Fast forward another 2½ years and I now have the Pixel 6 Pro and a work issued iPhone SE 2nd gen. I love both phones and they both have their tradeoffs but the biggest thing keeping me from switching to iPhone is how locked down everything is. With my Pixel I can buy whatever accessories I want and they'll work just about the same as the Google ones but on the iPhone side only apple accessories work well. 3rd party ones may work but they're gonna be watered down. Same goes with software. Apple just doesn't play well with 3rd party anything.

  4. I'd like to hear more about your with problems with photo transfer from your Apple laptop to/from your Pixel phone.

I've always had massive headaches with the way Apple does photo transfer. When I enlisted the help of some iPhone "experts" i.e. fanboys, they knew less than I did!

The absolutely simplest way to transfer to/from the Pixel and any laptop is to use a USB-C cable between the two devices. The Pixel will appear as a drive and you simply use the Finder to do file management. Do not use iPhoto! Don't use Wi-Fi! You did acknowledge how Apple "locks you in" with some things, any app with a lower case "i" in it should be avoided.

Now onto one of the fun parts of having an Android phone. If you are at all curious you should try alternate Android launchers and skins. There are dozens of ways of customizing your phones interface. It seems to me that the vast majority of cellphones users do almost nothing to customize their phone. The only thing that I've noticed is that many of them simply put a picture of their kids as a wallpaper. How adventurous (not).

My favorite Android launcher is one called Square Home. It can give you a massively customizable Windows Phone-like interface. I obviously like the Windows Phone user interface. YMMV.
