Openers Marcus Harris and Matthew Renshaw’s hard work was continued by Peter Handscomb with all three hitting half-centuries, however the West Indies struck multiple times in the final session under lights to leave the first-class day-night game evenly poised after day one

1000 runs West indies
It has been Test quality: Harris & Renshaw are making a great case; Handscomb is playing spin well in local conditions but may struggle in India. Both teams are going around the wicket too much; Neser has been a little impatient, Paris needs to try swinging it across the batsman & go over more. Murphy has been impressive: He & Zampa are flighting the ball well; Zampa needs to partner Lyon & Murphy will be good back up for both in future. Slips & close-in catchers need to be more consistently reinforced. Chanderpaul who is doing dad proud needs more "chin music" he needs his "comfort zone" rattled, ala Starc. The Aussies need to ask a few more questions, but for a warm-up they have been good, they just need to stay consistent.

West indies players celebrating wickets in a practice match when the benched players have hammered them is so silly.especially after what happened at the world event just looked silly. Imagine what Warner and co are going to do to them

West Indies won't win this series but will definitely put a better performance than England last summer
